Using SUMS Handheld in schools

Sony PSPs v PDAs (SUMS Handheld is available in versions for both).
PSPs are greatly loved by pupils. There are a lot of them out there already in pupils' homes. They have great multimedia capabilities. They are relatively inexpensive, but .... PSPs do not have a practical keyboard and so are not much use for document creation etc.

PDAs with Windows Mobile (or the phone based equivalent) come with a powerful set of ready made software built in - and a good handwriting reading tool. They use a stylus on a touch screen - which gives far easier and more precise control. There is a fantastic set of software out there. They also have great multimedia capabilities.
